On the 31st October, 144 balloons from Hook Norton School, joined in a Nationwide virtual balloon race to see whose balloon could travel the furthest in 7 days.
We had one balloon burst on the way out of the launch site, others which popped on mountain tops and some which travelled 100’s of miles!
Children at the school and their families, were able to log on at any point and track where their balloon was heading. On occasion, they were going backwards and at times they had a 20mph wind helping them on their way!
At one point, one of our balloons was 2nd in the country which was very exciting, but sadly this was overtaken and none of our balloons finished in the top 100.
However, we were able to offer prizes for our top 3 balloons:
- Rebecca – Family ticket to Fairy Tale Farm
- Jumping Jessica – £15 gift voucher for The Entertainer
- Fun in the Sun – Kinetic Sand donated by Wilkos
