We’ve entered in the Fun & Active Playgrounds competition and are in with a chance of winning a playground transformation worth £3000 for the new academic year! We’re crossing our fingers as the Silver Sports Package includes 6 bright and colourful playground markings that encourage physical play and activity. With current restrictions we are unable to hold the much loved FOHNS Christmas fair this year! Fear not we are still running our very popular Christmas raffle and chocolate tombola! Raffle tickets will be winging their way to you this week, so keep an eye out. If you no longer have a child at the school but would like to purchase some tickets fear note, there is an option via the donate button, tickets are 50p each (minimum purchase £1) once you have purchased we will email you your numbers.
We been donated some fabulous prizes already including a family pass to Blenheim Palace, Cotswold distillery tour & a bungee jump to name a few, with more prizes being added daily!
Trainers, walking boots and wellies at the ready – FOHNS are challenging you all (pupils, families AND staff!) to travel the equivalent distance of Hook Norton to the North Pole – that’s 2,622 miles!
You can cover these miles any way you like – you can walk, run, swim, cycle, scoot, horse ride or even cartwheel! The important thing is that you keep us updated so that we can add everyone’s miles together and track it on our fantastic North Pole-ometer outside school.

On the 31st October, 144 balloons from Hook Norton School, joined in a Nationwide virtual balloon race to see whose balloon could travel the furthest in 7 days.
We had one balloon burst on the way out of the launch site, others which popped on mountain tops and some which travelled 100’s of miles!
Children at the school and their families, were able to log on at any point and track where their balloon was heading. On occasion, they were going backwards and at times they had a 20mph wind helping them on their way!
At one point, one of our balloons was 2nd in the country which was very exciting, but sadly this was overtaken and none of our balloons finished in the top 100.
However, we were able to offer prizes for our top 3 balloons:
- Rebecca – Family ticket to Fairy Tale Farm
- Jumping Jessica – £15 gift voucher for The Entertainer
- Fun in the Sun – Kinetic Sand donated by Wilkos
